Session Description:

The lecture looks to provide a background in epidemiological study interpretation and apply this to a variety of adjunctive therapies often used in ART. We will look at examples that might be beneficial, that are useless and some that may be harmful.

Session Objectives:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of what constitutes cause and effect in epidemiological studies.
  2. Be able to provide examples to patients of supplements that have some potential to be beneficial
  3. List four major problems with supplements
  4. Be able to explain to a patient which categories of supplements have the potential to be dangerous.
